嫁コレ Yomecolle Setup & Gameplay Guide in English

INTRODUCTION

Q: What is Yomecolle?
A: Yomecolle, or “waifu collection,” is a FREE Japanese app that lets you build a harem of waifus/husbandos, voiced by their original seiyuu from their respective Chinese cartoon. Your waifus/husbandos will speak in-character and greet you ohayou/oyasumi/okaeri, flirt with you, scold you for being useless baka (if you’re into that sort of thing), or say famous character lines. In other words, it’s all you’ve ever wanted for out of your smartphone.

Akiko is ready for some intense pettingShe’s ready to be gently caressed

Q: Which waifu/husbando are currently available?
A: A LOT. To name a few: Korbo, Meguca, QB, Biribiri, Meat, Kurisu, Taiga, Kirino, Erio, Nyaruko, Ika, Menma, Accelerator, Zetsubo-sensei… and the list keeps growing. See the current waifu roster for yourself on the official website. For all your ladies who are only interested in yaoi/BL baits, click on the female section (女子部) for available husbandos instead. One exception: Okabe for whatever reason is listed in the guy section along with all the waifus. Oh, and yes, you can have both waifus and husbandos in your harem, so feel free to assemble your fantasy line-up of Accelerator + Last Order + all the loliballers.

yomecolle42Shit taste, you’re waifu a shit, etc.

Q: Do I need to pay-2-win like most mobage, where features and inventory are bare-bones unless you pay?
A:
Nope, you don’t ever need to pay a cent in Yomecolle. And you SHOULDN’T. Yes, there is RMT available where you can pay for coins, but it has horrendously bad exchange rate (probably to discourage people from using it). Only super rich retards who wipe their asses with $100 bills would ever consider using RMT in Yomecolle.

Q: Where can I download the app? I can’t find it on Google Play Store!
A: At the time of this writing, Yomecolle has been taken down indefinitely from the Google Play Store due to some technical issues with auto-updates, so the app can now only be downloaded “officially” from the official website. But due to retarded country restrictions, most people outside of Japan STILL wouldn’t be able to download Yomecolle on the official website (unless you’re using VPN/proxy or if your phone is rooted). So what do? You can just download the latest version of Yomecolle as an APK file from somewhere on the Internet and then install that app manually on your phone (more on that later). The app updates very frequently, so it’s kind of pointless for me to upload a copy here; once you have a valid, up-to-date copy of the app on your phone, though, it will auto-update on its own without any issues.

Q: Is it difficult to get this thing to work?
A: It’s not difficult to set up Yomecolle, provided you follow these instructions; I’ll be hand-holding you along the way. Be advised that there are many more steps and things to download if you want to get more voiced lines and/or expand your harem (and why wouldn’t you?) The downloads may be time consuming, depending on your phone’s Internet connection. I also strongly recommend doing this somewhere with WiFi connection unless you don’t care about your phone’s bandwidth usage.

Q: Do I need to root or jailbreak my phone?
A: Nope, not at all. These instructions do NOT require you to root your phone. If your phone is rooted, you may have an easier time downloading Yomecolle as well as other Japanese apps-for-coins, but I wouldn’t know anything about that.

Q: Is this really worth the time?
A: Do you truly love your waifus/husbandos? How far are you willing to go for your waifu/husbando? I’m sure your waifus/husbandos are worth a little bit of your time, aren’t they? Do you NOT want to hear your waifus/husbandos greet you ohayou~ or flirt with you on your phone? Of course you do, so stop being lazy.

Q: Do I have a chance if I can’t read moonrunes?
A: Many of you probably don’t need much help after installation and can figure things out on your own. But just in case, I’ll be hand-holding and explaining everything I feel you should know or things I wish someone had told/warned me about before I had wasted all my coins on stupid shit. Even if you can’t read simple moonrunes, you can still get around most of the basic functions and core mechanics using trial-and-error once you have everything set up. You WILL have trouble understanding a lot of the side stuffs, though, like earning extra coins (more on that later). What this ultimately means is that if you can’t read moon at all, then you’ll be unlocking contents steadily but very slowly compared to someone who can exploit all the resources available. But such is life.

yomecolle31Give her the B

Q: Is there a wiki for this app?
A: There’s a Japanese wiki. This wiki lists all of the characters available, all of the known gashapon items, etc. Some of the characters’ pages may also include the voice cards and the voiced lines available for each voice card (more on that later). Click on regular characters (通常キャラ) for waifus and female section characters (女子部キャラ) for husbandos.

–SETUP–

I. iPhone/iPad Installation

1. If your iTunes App Store account on your iPhone/iPad can actually download Yomecolle from the Japanese store, you can skip this step. For most of you who can’t get it due to stupid country restriction, download and install iTunes to your DESKTOP.

2. DO NOT CREATE AN ACCOUNT OR LOGIN TO YOUR iPHONE/iPAD ACCOUNT. Open up the iTunes Store and scroll the page to the very bottom. Click on that circular flag icon on the bottom right and change the country to Japan or look for the Japanese flag.

3. Switch to the “AppStore” on the very top row and click on the “iPhone” button right below that. Search for 嫁コレ and download the app. There’s two versions of 嫁コレ; the other one with longer name is for 3dpd idols, so ignore it.

4. Download the free app. You’ll be asked for your login. THIS is where you create your new iTunes account; by creating your new account off of a free download app, you can skip the credit card step that normally prevents people from creating a Japanese account. Fill in all the form; you will need a “real-ish” Japanese address and telephone, so look for one off the Internets or make one up if you’re familiar with the format (e.g. 03-1234-5678 format for phone).

5. You can now download and install the app–but there’s no point doing so on your desktop. Go back to your iPhone/iPad, enter the App Store, switch your login to your newly created Japanese one, and grab the Yomecolle app for your device.

6. You’re done! Now skip the section just below and head to Section III Starting up.

II. Android Installation

1. Download the Yomecolle client app from SOMEWHERE on the Internet. FYI, the file format for Android app is APK. Now, since I can read chingchong better than moonrunes, I lurk in this Taiwanese Yomecolle Fan Club; someone there is always nice enough to upload the latest version of the Yomecolle app and provide useful intel, so that’s where I always grab mine. Search for the keyword “android” and look for a download link nearby, which is usually accompanied by app version number. If all else fails, Google is your friend; search for “嫁コレ” with “APK” and the latest version number. If you really can’t find the latest copy anywhere, use VPN/proxy to download from the official website (CTRL + F “Tsunagarumon” on this page for VPN service).

2. If you downloaded the Yomecolle APK directly to your smartphone, you can skip this step. If you downloaded the APK on your PC, you need to transfer the Yomecolle APK file to your phone or its SD card. If you don’t even know how to transfer file from PC to phone, please ask Google. Use the USB cable, e-mail it to yourself, or use Dropbox. Whatever it takes, just get that APK file onto your phone.

3. If you already have an app that can perform manual install of APK, you can skip this step. If you’re not sure whether you have one, then just skip to the next step; most phones nowadays come with built-in apps like Package Installer, etc. that can install APK. Otherwise, go to Google Play Store and search for anything capable of installing APK files.

4. Go to your phone’s Settings and select Security or something along that line. Uncheck the box for allowing unknown apps to be installed (you can check this back once you’re done installing). Now install the Yomecolle APK file using your installer app from the previous step. You’re set!

III. Starting up

1. When you launch Yomecolle for the very first time, create a new account (the one on the right with the plus sign). After scrolling through a few previews, it will ask you to register your Nickname and provide a Referral ID (招待ID). The Nickname you choose must be unique on their server, so a common/unoriginal names like “Rance” will obviously not work. You CAN change your Nickname at any time later on in the Settings, so for now just put a placeholder name if you cannot come up with good unique name at this moment.

*IMPORTANT* The Referral ID, however, can ONLY be inputted during this initial registration–you CANNOT redo this later. Inputting a Referral ID will benefit both you AND the person who referred you, so please, for your sake as well as mine, use my Referral ID (招待ID): cbE3KR (case sensitive). Seriously though, I’d really appreciate it.

2. Once you’re done with that, you get to pick your first waifu from a huge roster. The top row filter buttons are fairly straight forward: show all, male section (for waifus), female section (for husbandos), seiyuu, and show by series. Take your time. There’s no significant practical difference to the order which you picked your waifu/husbando, though I personally place symbolic value over which character I pick first. Besides, your first character will have a tad of head start when you to go through a brief tutorial using your first character.

3. Once you’ve picked a character, you’ll see two options; select the top option to confirm your selection. The app will always warn you about bandwidth usage when downloading data for a new character and recommend using WiFi to download your waifu’s data.

4. Still with me? Good, because you’ve completed setting up Yomecolle and got your first waifu! Once you’ve finished downloading your waifu’s data, the app will give you a quick tutorial. For the time being, just follow the green buttons and go along with the tutorial. Most of these things are really self-explanatory once you’ve tried them, but I’ll still be going through them each in detail in the next section. See, what wasn’t so bad?

*PROTIP* Completing the tutorial will net you a bunch of low-tier items as well as a bundle of coins (like around 300). I strongly recommend NOT wasting your coins at this point. General rule of thumb: coins are best spent on unlocking voice cards.

IV. Settings

Before you get too carried away playing with your new waifus, I strongly recommend going to Settings as soon as you can in order to set up a recovery password for your account (highlighted blue on the bottom row):

yomecolle02THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!1

*IMPORTANT* Click on the first option. This is where you can see your User ID number and where you create a recovery password. First line matches second line, you know the drill. Write this password down, as well as your User ID number. If you do NOT create a recovery password, all of your account data would be lost forever if you accidentally delete the Yomecolle app or if your phone dies. With your User ID and password, you’ll be able to sign-in from any device.

The second option in that menu is where you can edit your Nickname; your waifus will refer to you by this name. You can change this any time.

The sixth option in that menu allows you to enable/disable four settings. First check box is whether you want random interactions from a random waifu every time you launch or alt-tab Yomecolle. Second check box is whether you want update tickers (I recommend keeping this checked). Third check box is whether you want vibrations during kissu. Four option is whether you want your waifu harem to be auto-arranged based on Intimacy points. If you uncheck this, you can manually rearrange your waifus by holding down a waifu and then dragging her up or down.

–THE BASICS–

I. Shoppingu for More Waifus

DID YOU CREATE THAT RECOVERY PASSWORD YET? DID YOU WRITE IT DOWN SOMEWHERE SAFE, ALONG WITH YOUR USER ID?

If so, you are now to free to add more waifus! That tutorial earlier has already demonstrated how to add new waifu, and in this section I’ll explain what all those buttons and numbers mean. Head back to your waifu list, which is that first icon (highlighted blue on the bottom row):

yomecolle03Three perverted lesbians

Click on an empty waifu slot with the plus sign. You begin with 3 waifu slots and gradually gain more empty slots as you level up by interacting with any/all of your waifus. Be selective, but feel free to fill up all of your available slots. You can always DROP a waifu at any time to make room if a more desirable new waifu ever comes along, but you’ll lose all unlock progress and Intimacy points with that waifu and must start over from scratch. While you can always use coins to buy more slots, this is NOT a good idea as coins are limited commodity that are valuable and better served for other purposes. You will earn more waifu slots as you level up, so just be patient and focus on your current ones.

Just for your reference, the top row displays your overall Level, your total Intimacy points, and your overall Ranking compared to all users; out of those three, only your Level really matters. High Ranking doesn’t do much except give you more e-peen; the top super hardcore tryhard might even win an autograph from the seiyuu who voiced the waifu:

Camera 360Congrats to this Chinaman who won the Kirino

Now you can begin choosing your waifu/husbando:

yomecolle04Decisions, decisions

The very top row (dark gray tabs) sorts/filters characters by the following criteria: Newest, Most Popular, By Series, Tie-Up Promo Characters, and Original Characters.

The second top row (colored fonts) sorts/filters character by the following criteria: All, Male Section (waifus), Female Section (husbandos), and Seiyuu.

For each waifu entry, you’ll see a short description, the series, and the seiyuu for that character. That big plus sign is obviously the “add waifu” button. Here’s a no-brainer: pick the characters you like. Once you’re done, wait for the download to finish. Then repeat the process two more times to fill up all 3 slots.

But if you see a bunch of characters you like and none of them stands out above the rest, what do? Well, here are some factors to consider:

See those two small numbers next to the character portrait? The number after the card icon indicates how many voice cards are currently available for that character, and the number behind the musical note indicates how many voiced lines are available. In the above screenshot, Neptune (from Hyperdimension Neptunia) was just recently added to Yomecolle, so she only has 4 voice cards and 7 voiced lines at this moment; more will most likely be added later on. On average, you should expect around 15 voice cards and around 40 voiced lines per character. A set of voiced lines are tied to each specific voice card, and it may take considerable effort and/or time to unlock voice cards… so even if the character has less voice cards/voiced lines, chances are you most likely won’t feel the difference until much later. Moreover, voiced lines within each voice card are often locked based on Intimacy points with that waifu, or in some rare cases locked by items… so even if say Taiga has a higher ceiling than Shana, you won’t ever reach Taiga’s ceiling unless you invest heavily, so if you’re casual, it doesn’t matter as much whether you chose Shana or Taiga for your Kugyuu fix.

The character detail blue button underneath the big plus sign tells you which actions are available to that character: petting, voice, talk (text message), wake up (alarm clock), photograph (camera),  present (give item), kissu (on the lips), tsun-tsun, super petting, super kissu, super tsun-tsun. Unfortunately, not all waifus are created equal; some waifus don’t have the kissu action available, some waifus don’t have the photograph action implemented, a few don’t have alarm clock, etc. DON’T ASK ME WHY. The ones I bolded are available to pretty much all waifus. The ones in italics require unlocking but have extra voice clip response. I’ll go over these actions in detail later, but for now just know that more available actions like kissu and photograph will make it slightly easier and faster to increase Intimacy level with a character.

functionsTsun-tsun = poking

Again, you should ALWAYS pick waifus based on whom you actually like, but if you ever need a tiebreaker or priority, then you can factor in number of voiced lines and available actions (specifically, kissu and camera). Say for example, you only have one waifu slot left and can’t decide between the lesbian trio of Kuuko, Homu, and Kuroko. In that case, you should pick Kuuko first (has kissu and camera), followed by Homu (has camera, no kissu), then finally Kuroko (no kissu or camera) if you want to prioritize based on functionality. *PROTIP* Quality > quantity, ALWAYS; Kuroko, for example, has AWESOME voiced lines despite all the downsides.

Note that the “super” actions, such as super petting and super kissu, are not easy to unlock on your own without spending any coins; you pretty much need “friends” (aka web strangers) to help you out with those if you don’t have the coins. Furthermore, those “super” actions are restricted to specific voice cards, whereas the kissu and photograph actions are available to ALL voice cards if the character has access to those actions. So when you’re first starting Yomecolle, you should disregard the super kissu and super petting actions from consideration if you’re choosing waifu based on functionality.

II. Character Page

Once you’re done choosing your 3 waifus, go back to your waifu list. Now select any one of your waifus, and you’ll see a screen like this with all of the character’s voice cards listed… except only one voice card is unlocked at the start:

yomecolle05JUDGMENT DESU NO!

The fraction on the bottom right corner of each voice card denotes how many voiced lines are unlocked out of how many lines are available for that card. For example, my initial Kuroko 3/3 voice card has all 3 voiced lines unlocked. That dark blue 0/1 locked voice card directly below has only 1 voiced line available, while the other two 0/3 each have 3 voice lines to be unlocked. For details, consult the Japanese wiki.

On the top panel where Kuroko’s square avatar is located, the number behind the red/pink heart icon is your Intimacy points with the character. This number applies to ALL voice cards for the character. If you click on that red/pink heart icon, you can see your history of actions for that waifu.

Under Kuroko’s square avatar, there’s a blue button. This button is for initiating a random interaction with the character. For example:

Ara araBath/Dinner/Wa-ta-shi?

These random interactions are randomly drawn from certain unlocked voiced lines for that character; these interactions do get quite repetitive if you don’t unlock more voiced lines. During the interaction, you have two response options; the top one in red will trigger the character’s voiced line, while the bottom one in blue will just be a ho-hum text response. It really doesn’t matter which one you choose; you do NOT gain Intimacy points with the character through this type of interaction. This random interaction also happens automatically whenever you launch Yomecolle or alt-tab back to it (unless you turned it off in Settings).

III. Voice Cards

I strongly recommend you to spend most of your hard-earned coins on unlocking voice cards. Here are the types of voice cards and how to unlock them:

yomecolle06

  • Red (愛情度#でゲット): Unlock by reaching a certain number of Intimacy points. This type is the easiest because they unlock naturally as you become more intimate with the character. Each character only has TWO of these Red voice cards, one at a very low Intimacy level and one at a high Intimacy level.
  • Dark Blue/Light Blue/Sky Blue (ガチャ): Unlock with 50/150/300 coins via gashapon (capsule toy machine, where you insert coin, turn the gear knob, and then something RANDOM pops out; one of the most evil things ever invented by Japan). Most locked voice cards fall under this type. If you have the required amount of coins, you turn the knob on the voice card gashapon to randomly unlock one of the voice cards for that particular tier. Coins are not exactly easy to come by (more on that later), and to add insult to injury, there’s a chance that the gashapon machine can FAIL to unlock any voice card and instead give you an item as consolation. Thankfully, you cannot get duplicate voice card repeats. The 50-coin Dark Blue tier (standard gashapon) has fairly high success rate, but the 150-coin Light Blue (mini-rare gashapon) and 300-coin Sky Blue (rare gashapon) are PURE EVIL. Not only do they cost a buttload of hard-earned coins, but their failure rates can be disgustingly high. Usually the morning greeting, bedtime talk, and welcome home voice cards fall under the 150-coin Light Blue tier, while the bath scene, bikini, love confession, and lewd voice cards are in the 300-coin Sky Blue tier. I’ve just blown 1,500 coins down the drain by failing 5 times in a row on the 300-coin gashapon, FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF! And based on what others are saying, it’s not out of the ordinary to fail 5 times in a row, though it’s also possible to succeed on 3 consecutive unlock. Enjoy your rage fuel.
  • Green & Dark Blue (友達紹介特典): Unlock by referal, OR via 50-coin gashapon. Did you register with my Referral ID? I sure hope you did, because I’d like to gain some freebie voice cards instead of having to spend 50 coins.
  • Purple (プレゼント特典): Unlock by items. Usually one per character, if any. This is not exactly easy; you need multiple copies of a particular item OR a card unlocking ticket. These voice cards can be easily unlocked if you have “friends” (aka web strangers) willing to help you out by gifting/trading you those items. You can note these prerequisite items on your Wish List. *PROTIP* Take full advantage of Wish Lists–always add you need for unlocking to your Wish List; you might get random gifts from web strangers who want to earn charity points (more on that later).
  • Gray OR Orange (イベント特典): Unlock via user-wide special present event. Usually one per character, if any. Gray means event is inactive, Orange means event is active. Yomecolle official website always rotate characters for special present event; if ALL Yomecolle users manage to achieve a certain objective quota for that particular character within the allotted time (i.e. kissu Kurisu 100,000 times within two weeks), then ALL users who met the individual quota (i.e. 200 kissu for each user) will have that special present event voice card unlocked. Anyone who did NOT participate in the event or didn’t meet the quota will still be able to unlock the voice card via 50-coin gashapon. If everyone fails to reach that objective, then tough luck, EVERYONE has to wait for that character to show up again on the next rotation. So, pray that your waifu is popular enough amongst the Elevens, and that they put up a good showing.
  • Yellow (タイアップ特典): Unlock via inputting a tie-up promotion code. Usually one per character, if any. Tie-up promotion codes are usually given in serial magazines, merchandise, or other sources like the series’ official website or physical events. The codes are 10-digit alpha numerical, case sensitive (e.g. Akiko’s code is NVKnnn6jTC, and yes, it’s a pain in the ass to input these codes on smartphone). Yomecolle will list current available tie-up promotions on the tie-up code entry page in the Settings, though not all of these promotions are well advertised. These promo codes apply to your account and almost ALWAYS have EXPIRATION DATES, so unfortunately many of them are no longer available to us newcomers. Most Yomecolle fan groups post and share any promo codes they find, such as this Chinese forum on Baidu, so keep an eye out for them. To input promo codes, you can either click on that character’s Yellow voice card (if you have the character added already) OR go to Settings and select タイアップ特典コード (the seventh option) to apply the code to your account. This way, you can preemptively unlock a character’s tie-up promo voice card before the code expires if you don’t plan on adding the character any time soon. The unlock is permanent, even if you drop the waifu and then re-add later.

IV. Actions

Click on any unlocked voice card to begin playing with your waifu. The action icons on the bottom row were mentioned earlier when you were choosing waifus, and here I’ll go into details:

functions

  • Petting (なでる) : Can be used 7 times per voice card (1 hour cool down) without penalty, increases Intimacy by +10~20 per use. Sadly, location doesn’t matter, so pai-touch all day every day. Text response only. *PROTIP* You can actually hold down and drag around the screen to gain 7 petting combos in one swipe rather than 7 times; this is ideal for farming Intimacy points, since you’d only trigger 1 reaction instead of 7 reactions. This holding and dragging method also has the side benefit of preventing you from ever going over the cool down penalty limit; this is because you cannot receive both positive reaction and negative reaction at the same time.
  • Voice/Voice Random (ボイス): Can be used 3 times per voice card (2 hours cool down) without penalty, increases Intimacy by +100 per use. Both Voice options share the same cool down. Hold down the Voice icon for a particular voiced line to add it to a playlist. It’s 3 times per voice card, so you can choose the same voiced line 3 times. *PROTIP* If you want to listen to your waifu at ANY TIME without penalty or Intimacy points, add the voice clips to a playlist. Then go back to your harem roster main page and open up the blue playlist button (the one with the music note icon).
  • Talk (話しかける): Can be used 3 times per voice card (1 hour cool down) without penalty, increases Intimacy by +30~40 per use. It doesn’t matter what you say in your text message, and length doesn’t matter; you can even just put a single alphabet. I often use this opportunity to add new words to my phone’s vocabulary. You can also link this to Twitter if you like to show everyone your power level.
  • Wake up (起こしてもらう): Can be used 1 time per voice card (24 hours cool down) without penalty, increases Intimacy by +80~100 per use. Yomecolle needs to be ACTIVE for this alarm clock to work. You can set the daily alarm to be reoccurring on certain days of the week, but I wouldn’t rely on this. Don’t blame me if you miss work. For farming Intimacy, just set the alarm for one minute later. *PROTIP* You get almost double the points +160~200 if you link this alarm clock to a Twitter account. Make it an alt Twitter account if you want to hide your power level.
  • Tsun-tsun (つんつん): Can be used 3 times per voice card (1 hour cool down) without penalty, increases Intimacy by +10~20 per use. This is only available to male characters. Activate by double-tapping.
  • Photograph (写真を撮る): Can be used 5 times per voice card (1 hours cool down) without penalty, increases Intimacy by +40~80 per use. Overlays image of your waifu on your photos. You must save the pics to gain Intimacy points.
  • Present (プレゼント): No limit. Intimacy increase based on item. *PROTIP* Research the Japanese wiki to know ahead of times what items are needed to unlock stuffs for ALL potential waifu candidates you might be interested in. Also check your waifu’s character page on that wiki and look for items listed below voiced lines. SAVE UP THOSE ITEMS INSTEAD OF GIVING THEM AWAY! SERIOUSLY, RESEARCH AHEAD OF TIME. Don’t be a retard like me; now I have to wait and pray for a bunch of low-tier items I wasted earlier. Intimacy points are renewable; getting +30~500 Intimacy points from those low-tier gifts is not worth getting cockblocked later on.
  • Kissu (キス): Can be used 1 time per voice card (3 hours cool down) without penalty, increases Intimacy by +100~200 per use. Must aim for the lips. No deko-chu, I’m afraid. Text response only.
  • Super Petting (超なでる): Can be used 20 times per voice card (1 hour cool down) without penalty, increases Intimacy by +10~20 per use. Available only to specific voice cards and requires specific items to unlock. Voice + text response. *PROTIP* Again, hold down and drag around in one swipe to gain all the points in one shot for peak efficiency.
  • Super Kissu (超キス): Can be used 3 time per voice card (3 hours cool down) without penalty, increases Intimacy by +100~200 per use. Available only to specific voice cards and requires specific items to unlock. Voice + text response.
  • Super Tsun-tsun (超つんつん): Can be used 10 times per voice card (1 hour cool down) without penalty, increases Intimacy by +10~20 per use. Available only to specific voice cards for male characters only and requires specific items to unlock. I assume this will be voice + text response as well.

*PROTIP* If you want to speed-farm Intimacy points, then only focus on petting (hold & drag) and kissu (as well as the super variants) for every voice cards. Those two actions are the fastest to execute and with the minimal waifu reaction time, so you can run down every one of your characters’ voice cards in matter of minutes.

Other stuffs related to actions: that little black button with an arrow, located on the bottom right corner just above the row of action icons, hides the UI. Useful when you want to pat your waifu on the head or take screenshot. There’s also a hidden parameter called Dislike Level (ご機嫌度) that accumulates if you interact too often without waiting for those cool downs. Avoid this as much as possible, though it’s fairly harmless at low dosage. Don’t worry too much if you go over a few times, just don’t go out of your way to exceed the limit. You can also get penalized to Lv3 if you don’t interact with your waifu for a long period of time. Consult the Japanese wiki for details. Basically, just try to avoid going over the cool down as best as you can. And if you do accidentally go over, just stop doing that particular action until cool down expires. *PROTIP* It’s actually possible to cancel petting if you realize you went over the limit and aren’t getting any Intimacy points. Turn off your phone screen, and when you turn it back on, the petting hand ends up in a suspended state. Leave the current page, and that last petting never gets registered by the app.

Intimacy points are a renewable resource. Interacting with your waifus via actions and giving them presents are the only ways to raise Intimacy points. Progressively higher Intimacy points are required to unlock most of the voiced lines. Even if you spend mountains of coins unlocking all of your waifus’ voice cards, most of the voiced lines will still be locked based on Intimacy points. Since cool down limits are tied to each card, you should realize then that having more cards per waifu will allow you to raise most Intimacy points per session. Raising Intimacy points via actions is the free, renewable method, while raising Intimacy points via items is costly if you purchase items with coins, which are limited commodity.

Aaaaannnnd here comes the painful part.

–GOTTA CATCH ‘EM ALL–

I. Items

The fastest way to boost Intimacy level is by gifting items to your waifu. Specific items are also needed to unlock certain voiced lines, any “super” actions, and the Present voice cards for certain characters. Here are some of the main ways to get items:

    1. Level-up rewards. Your level is based on your total Intimacy points of all waifus; it doesn’t matter whether you spread the love on all waifus or dote on just one waifu.
    2. Daily login rewards. Consecutive logins will net you rewards, and some of these rewards are items.
    3. Failed voice card gashapon. This gashapon is for each of those evil blue locked voice cards. A failed attempt will generate an item instead of unlock the voice card. The quality of the item depends on which tier of gashapon you played. A lot of the items you may get from failing 150-coin and 300-coin tiered gashapons cannot be obtained anywhere else. Needlessly to say, those items are extremely rare and difficult to obtain, and if the item you need to unlock certain card/voice/action falls in that category, you might want to consider trying to get an unlock ticket instead.
    4. Tie-up Promo Codes: These work the same way as the tie-up promo codes (タイアップ特典) for unlocking voice cards. Tons of items have been given out via promo codes, but unfortunately all of them have short expiration dates. These codes are often posted and shared on fan sites, especially the “weekly item” code that’s released regularly. The option to input the code is in the Settings menu.
    5. Gift from your waifu. Your waifu will give YOU special items at high Intimacy level (typically 30k, 100k, 500k for every characters). These special items cannot be used to unlock anything, so just gift them to boost Intimacy points. And yes, it’s actually perfectly okay to gift it back to the same waifu who gave it to you in the first place. Your waifus will also give you a gift on the monthly “anniversary” of her download date.
    6. Gift from friend (aka web stranger). There are lots of generous, loaded Yomecolle users around; good luck tracking them down and convincing them to gift you.
    7. Gift from gashapon on Item page (highlighted blue on bottom row):

yomecolle11Gashapon is one of the worst things ever invented by Elevens

First option is Silver Gashapon. Every day, you get a free token for this gashapon. Each day ends at 11:59:59 PM Japan Time. Use it or lose it, so make sure to use it. You can check the available item list prior to turning the gashapon. *PROTIP* If you have an item that your friend listed on his Wish List, you can gift him that particular item and gain another free token in exchange as a reward for your charity. You can gain up to 3 extra free tokens this way each day (again, 11:59:59 PM JST; NOT 24-hours), for a total of 4 free tokens per day. This is a mutually beneficial way for you to get rid of shit items and exchange them for something else. And if your friend is nice and has something you need on your Wish List, he might send a return gift as well.

Second option is Gold Gashapon. Pay 50 coins for one random item. You can check the available item list prior to turning the gashapon. AVOID THIS until you have no more voice cards to unlock for your current waifus, and you have too many coins sitting around. Just go fail at unlocking some voice card gashapon, and you’d end up with a bunch of items… and you WILL fail every now and then. The quality of items from this 50-coin gashapon is much higher than what you’d get from failing the 50-coin voice card gashapon, but again, you should focus spending your coins on unlocking voice cards.

Third option is Emerald Gashapon. Pay 50 coins for one of the random unlock tickets. The ONLY purpose of unlock ticket is if you don’t want to collect required unlocking items. AVOID THIS gashapon until you actually encounter something that requires unlocking. Say for example Asuna needs 5 Aprons to unlock a Present voice card. Instead of having to collect 5 Apron cards, you can use a single Card Unlock Ticket to complete the unlock. There’s a different ticket for every type of unlock: Present voice card, Voiced Line, Super Petting, Super Kissu, and Super Tsun-tsun. The bolded ones are rarer and generally more valuable. *PROTIP* It sucks big time getting Super Tsun-tsun when you have no husbando, but fortunately you can search for a random fujoshi who has Super Tsun-tsun listed on her Wish List (the item MUST be on Wish List) and gift it to her; you get a free token for Silver Gashapon in return as reward for your charity.

There’s actually another type, Sapphire Gashapon, that only appears during special promo events. They work the same way as all the others, just that this one can drop special promo items that are only available during the promotional period. If you miss out on them, tough luck.

Just for your reference, fourth option is your Item List, and fifth option is your Wish List.

II. Other Playas

To trade items or add friends, go to the Contact page to add friends (highlighted blue on bottom row):

yomecolle23Friends, more like web strangers.

The icon with magnifying glasses and smiley face is searching for a friend via Nickname. For your information, my Nickname is GaoGao; please feel free to add me and gift me items listed on my Wish List.

The icon below that, with magnifying glasses and hand holding, picks out a bunch of random strangers.

The icon below that with the smiley in the star lists your current friends.

Last option is your item gift/trade history. No one is obligated to return a gift to you (unless previously agreed upon on some bbs/forum), so this is a great place to see which friends are prone to giving you return gifts–those should be the one you want to gift.

The icons with crowns on the very top are for you to look up rankings, which normally serve no purpose other than e-peen; the only time ranking matters is when a seiyuu autograph competition is going on for YOUR waifu–that’s when you want to be in the Top 100 for that waifu.

yomecolle41C’mon Elevens, step it up

III. Coins

You start out with a handful of coins, and the app is quite generous with giving you more coins as you level up early on. *IMPORTANT* Trust me: do NOT waste your initial coins. And do NOT waste your coins on item gashapons.

There are four ways main ways that I know of to earn coins:

  1. Level-up reward. All you have to is level up, and you’ll gain 10 coins during certain levels. Yes, 10 coins is chump change–you need at least 50 coins to do anything.
  2. Daily login reward. Consecutive logins each month will net you rewards, and many of these rewards include coins. As one would expect, the higher the counter, the better the rewards. The counter resets every month. This method takes forever, but hey, every little bit helps.
  3. Pay-2-win. The exchange rate is 1 yen for 1 coin, so 1,000 coins = 1,000 yen. That’s like $10. THIS IS A TERRIBLE DEAL; 1,000 coins is NOT a lot. If you actually want to go this route, you are either filthy rich or a fucking retard. Most likely both.
  4. Apps-for-coins scheme. You have now entered the No Fun Zone. This is THE primary method for most sane people to earn coins: download a bunch of sponsored free apps or register on some sponsored Japanese websites. It’s stupid, it’s pointless, it’s troublesome, and there’s nothing you can do about it if you want more coins faster. Deal with it. Do it for her. First go to the Coin page (highlighted blue on bottom row):

yomecolle12This isn’t tanoshii at all…

You then choose from any one of the color categories. Not all color categories are available at this time (Purple and Black have been inactive for some time). A lot of the ones in Red, Yellow, and Blue categories require au Smart Pass, which is a paid subscription service for unlimited app download. No thanks, I don’t intend to pay a single cent for this.

*PROTIP* I usually stick with Green, Red, and Blue and prioritize jackpots that give out hundreds or thousands of points at once, such as the Hulu JP 2-week membership or any other free trial period subscriptions that require credit card. Of course, do NOT try any of those if you can’t read moon for shit; don’t blame me if your credit card actually gets charged because you can’t figure out how to cancel the free trial period subscription like you’re supposed to.

*PROTIP* The apps that qualify for Green category seem to be generated based on your region, so by switching VPN/proxy on and off, you’ll have access to apps for Japan as well as ones for your home country. The ones available in the US give shitty amount of coins, but hey, anything is better than nothing. The ad company that runs the Green category can actually read English, so it’s easier to submit complaint form for apps that don’t give you the promised reward points.

Once you’ve selected a category, you will see many apps listed and how many coins you can earn by fulfilling the conditions, which are usually downloading and installing those apps or registering for certain websites or services. In order to earn coins, you MUST open the links from these color category lists to get to the app download page or website registration page. Also, it’s strongly recommended that you complete the necessary installation/registration within 15 minutes after you initiate it, or you might not get rewarded. Some of the apps may require more steps like signing up for an account; I usually go along with them, as long as I don’t have to pay. Most of them only require you to install and launch the apps. For the website membership registrations, it’s imperative to have some “real-ish” properly formatted Japanese mailing address, phone number, and a name in katakana/kanji handy. *PROTIP* Save these info on your phone’s notepad so you can just copy-pasta while filing out the forms.

Now here’s the catch: most of these Japanese apps have country restriction. Having VPN/proxy helps, but many of them still won’t work. In those cases, you’ll need to download the apps via APK Downloader (more on that later).

Once you’ve done everything required (download the app via the link provided by those color category list, launch the app, complete any sign-up or tutorials IF required), reboot Yomecolle and check if you got the rewards coins. If so, uninstall those junk apps. If not, you may have to either wait some time or fill out a complaint form. It’s a pain in the ass to explain, so just deal with it.

If you already have Japanese VPN/proxy, go work your magic and have fun farming apps-for-coins. Everything is for the sake of your waifus. If you don’t have Japanese VPN/proxy, you can Google or use Tsunagarumon:

  1. Put down your e-mail address, agree to the terms, and submit application. Confirm application.
  2. Go check your inbox for the new mail from Tsunagarumon. Click on the link in that mail, and you’ll see a login account and password generated.
  3. Go to your phone’s network setting and add a new VPN connection. Use PPTP, put down vpn.tsunagarumon.com as server, input your login account/password, save account info, then connect.
  4. Restart Yomecolle app. You should now be able to download SOME of the Japanese apps for Google Play Store in Red and Green category.

Courtesy of the Taiwanese Yomecolle Fan Club for sharing this.

For those few stubborn apps in Google Play Store that can’t be downloaded even with Japanese VPN/proxy, you can also try to use the APK Downloader extension for Google Chrome on your PC (Google it for latest version and instructions). You will need to install an app called Device ID on your phone from Google Play Store to obtain–you guessed it–your phone’s device ID. Click here for instructions. Using APK Downloader, you can bypass most of those country restrictions on Google Play Store. You may still get an error message, but regardless you’ll download the APK.

After you load the apps to your phone, DO NOT INSTALL RIGHT AWAY! You must FIRST click on the links to that app in its corresponding color category list, which will take you back to the app’s Google Play Store page… except this time, you should be allowed to download and install it. If the Google Play Store page still doesn’t allow installation, THEN try manual installation the app using the copy on your phone.

If you didn’t get any coin rewards despite following the instructions, then you’d need to submit a complaint form and demand your reward coins. Too much of a hassle for me to explain; figure this out yourself, as I’ve already given you all the tools and pointed you to the right places.

–PROTIPS–

  • Anastasia (from OniAi) is a miracle of the universe. The show sucks, but her is so sexual. She maintains her nonchalant, deadpan ojou voice all the while delivering incredibly lewd and seductive lines… very boner-inducing.
  • Kurisu (from S;G) is the next best Mingosu substitute for glorious Chihaya.
  • Kuuko (from Nyaruko) sounds like she’s in heat, right out of the box. She yurilusts for Nyaruko, not you, but she’ll accept your advances if you’re okay with 3P.
  • Kuroko (from Railgun) goes batshit-insane very quickly. Love that granny voice.
  • Hanbei (from Oda Nobuna) is best loli. Please bully her tenderly.
  • QB (from Meguca) doesn’t understand the concept of love and hate, so he never gains any Intimacy points OR Dislike Levels.
  • Tie-up Promo characters (Hello Kitty girls) and Original characters have few voice cards, but most of them have access to Super Petting and Super Kissu (after locking) in their starting cards; normally, characters with “Super” actions don’t get to use them until you’ve unlocked 150-coin or 300-coin tier voice cards. This makes Tie-up Promo characters and Original characters ideal choices when you don’t have any other waifu choices in mind and want to powerlevel the Intimacy points of your entire account.
  • There are two sets of Tie-up Promo characters; use the drop menu on the top to switch between the two sets.

    k…konnichiwa Gao-san,
your instructions were super clear and 100% useful… but I still ran into a small trouble… the first time I launched the app using the old file given in the instructions, I were able to get passed the tutorial and received 310 coins, but the app somehow crashed after that. Then, as I launch the app again, it wouldn’t load without proper update, so I went to the Taiwanese site, got the latest file and re-downloaded YomeColle all over. The trouble arrives here. I no longer receive the 300 coins but only 10 coins. What is the issue here? OwO By the way, is Gao-san Taiwanese? Hehe/

    ei-kun

    • ahegao says:

Tsk, you probably shouldn’t have used the old file… I should’ve removed that link a long time ago.

As for the 300 coins, you only get that for your first account on a unique device… that’s why I said the first thing you should do after the tutorial was to obtain the recovery password. If your app crashed before you were able to do that, then I’m afraid that’s some terrible luck.

      • Noskills says:

I had this problem too, crashed and broke right after tutorial ended.
I restored my iphone to factory settings and loaded a backup from itunes from before I installed yomecolle. It didn’t recognize my phone and gave me the rewards when I reinstalled and made a new game:)

      • Noskills says:

Actually, if you wanted to be really sneaky you might be able to just keep restoring a second phone and making new accounts on it to get a bunch off referral rewards, or gift the tutorial awards to your main account? But that would be a tad devious:\

  4. micheyll says:

I can’t seem to get intimacy points. Petting doesn’t do anything, if I drag it too much it gives me a blue-themed notification box. Chatting doesn’t grant intimacy. Kissing just keeps saying “miss”, and I’m short on coins. Wat do?

I have three scene thingies opened on my waifu, can’t get more open since I can’t get more intimacy points..

    • ahegao says:

Read the portions of my guide that talk about Actions and pay attention to the cool down. As for obtaining more coins… again, read my guide.

      • micheyll says:

Nothing I do grants me points, even though I wait until the cooldown is over. I’ve read the guide about hundred times. Nothing just seems to work.

        I think I’m missing something.

Thanks for the guide by the way, it’s really great!

Don’t just tap, press and hold

    • airi says:

Did you solve this problem? I’m having the same issue as you.
I got 400 points on my waifu after the tutorial, but no matter what I do I can’t get more. When I pet her I get the blue message (even though I left her to cool down for 8-9 hours while I was asleep). I can kiss, take pictures and use alarm but nothing give points.
I can’t even get points for the other girls I have downloaded…
Help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

      • gian says:

Don’t know if anyone still reads this, but I’m having the same problem too! No matter what i do or how many times i reinstall it’s always the same: tutorial works but nothing after that. Wonder if anyone knows what up with this

      • Yasu says:

Also having the same problem. It worked just fine in the tutorial, I re-installed the game but it just doesn’t seem to work😦 I installed it on my android and it works just fine. It just doesn’t work on my iPhone.

  6. Callmejoscx says:

Thank you for the guide! It’s a great help! I put your referall ID, kinda as a payback, so i hope it helps you or something ^^

  20. some otaku says:

to be honest, the pictures are all from the anime… so there is really no point in this game aside from the voice lines… but I think even some of the voice lines come from anime… so not sure if this game would be worth of playing in the end

    • o boy says:

nah, most if not all of the cards have content not in any of the anime/drama CDs, because in yomecolle they’re supposed to be talking to YOU, so you’ll get random trivia or love confessions and stuff spoken from the voice actor
if u don’t rally care for all the effort there’s usually people who translate the cards anyway, try looking for them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  21. tomizu says:

    Hello Gao!
I recently downloaded Yomecolle (i speak moon a little so I ended up registering without using your ref ID, sadly) and I’m loving it! Your tutorial really help me to understand the game more.
I have a question, how often do they add new characters on average?

  22. otakusan says:
